Oh this question again. People - stop being so short term thinking and an instant gratification investor. You buy stocks to hold long term unless you’re an extremely experienced investor. Stop freaking out when stocks go down. If you’re that worried then you shouldn’t have invested in the first place.
Over time if you’re investing in solid blue chip stocks, index funds, and ETFs…you’re going to be fine!
Perfect time to take advantage of the dip and buy more.
You haven’t gained or lost anything until you sell
The question is should I sell? Is it a good time to buy cheap stock and sell everything before it plunged even more?
Hold. It’s not about timing the market. It’s about time in the market. You’ll thank yourself in 5 years.
I’ve been holding onto about 17-18k in stocks since before the war - going to ride it out at this point
Yep correct unless you absolutely know it’s going to zero which rarely happens, don’t sell at a loss.
I suggest looking at it as an opportunity to invest in good quality equity at a lower valuation. If you are risk averse suggest changing your asset allocation a bit toward savings/low risk assets
Good to hear. I am staying put on my investment and adding good quality stocks and ETFs every two weeks
Totally agreeEY1. No one can time the market. If you’re investing in stocks, you should be thinking 5 to 10 years plus+ MINIMUM to get the most out of your return . If you were invested and invested at all time highs, expect pull backs. stocks are companies with people who are literally working every day to make them more profitable and valuable. The bigger the company is, the more patient u should be.
I’ve rotated to different stocks since the Ukraine war and Fed actions.
