I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

32 isn’t too old for an SC...
Take it. Enough with the ‘too old’. You are your own path!

I echo the above about going for it. Actually, there is quite a bit of overlap when you consider your skill set and the business challenges you help your clients solve. So I wouldn’t say you are “starting over” necessarily. Go for it if it’s what you want! Good luck!

Now for the age you’re still young 32 S.C means nothing, imagine the following path (assuming staying to P for simplicity)
2 yrs Sc
3 yrs M
3 yrs SM
4 yrs MD (i believe KPMG has this as a must before P)
You’re a partner at 44, not young but 16 years as a partner will make you a very rich man/woman
Tdlr - don’t sweat it if you want to be in strat go work in strat no one cares about your age
Age has nothing to do with anything
The reason why you won’t move to a like for like position in terms of seniority is that your domain experience is limited. If you want to move to a strategy role it’s more than likely you’ll have to take a demotion or stay at the same level in grade.
Entirely dependent on your long term outlook. Are you willing to take that hit for the pursuit of a career in strategy consulting/attainment of the skills from strategy consulting?
