You’re in luck. Normally, that would only get you 5-6 Invictas but with their 90% off sale, you could get closer to 50-60. Deal can’t be beat!

Thank god I’ve spent my whole career dealing with (and creating) ambiguous requirements. Buy a black bay 58. Thank me later.

If this is your first luxury watch it is really hard to argue against one of these:
-Omega Aqua Terra: Super versatile, really good looking watch with a very nice movement, bracelet is good, and a fantastic rubber strap
-Tudor BB58: Also super versatile, vintage styled. bracelet is nice (but has stupid faux rivets) and a reliable movement
-Tudor Pelagos (39mm): brand new and hot but considered a worth successor to the tool watches things like the submariner and sea dweller used to be
-Oris Aquis Calibre 400: Their most popular watch but with the new cal 400 movement that is ground breaking. You can save a bunch getting these used, or getting a regular Aquis used
-Cartier Santos are great, but I'm not sure you can find any with mechanical movements for under $5k (even used)
-Grand Seiko has a couple that would fit the bill, the SBGA211 (Snowflake) and SBGM221 are probably the most popular options
Do not get a vintage watch as your first watch. Lots of posts in here where people have asked so you can find the reasons but it boils down to this; vintage watches are no longer meant for daily use.
I did a vintage Heuer. But quartz. That being said, I did immediately send it off for service. Been dead reliable since. But yeah, echo vintage maybe not being beat purchase.
It’s like when I went from a carb motorcycle to a fuel injected. Why didn’t I do this from the get go!

Omega Aqua Terra
If you want a slightly different pick that I prefer, look at the Omega Globemaster
Second this. Can’t go wrong with a do it all Omega AT - you get a whole lot of watch for this price plus it’s super versatile (rubber strap for casual/metal for dress up).
Hard to say. What style watch are you looking for? There are literally thousands of watches that fit that description…
I just got a BB58. Highly recommend that if you’re into dive watches. They’re pretty readily available now that the Pelagos 39 is out (also a knockout btw) Otherwise agree with the Aqua Terra suggestion someone else gave.
If you’re into the dressier look, try for the basic IWC Pilot’s watches.

Tudor BB58 (various models) fall in that budget as well. Also new Tudor Pelagos 39 fits budget.

If you’re looking for casual, wear with anything, an Omega seamaster fits the bill. Also like others said, Tudor makes beautiful, timeless watches
Pre owned Cartier Santos M in good condition? If only brand new, I will also go for omega AT

You’re a 39 year old male or you want a 39 millimeter watch?
