Wait so he graduated with a Bachelors or Masters? Bc with bachelors that’s easier. Tell him to just apply for full time paid internships or entry level jobs. They don’t have to be B4. They can even be entry level roles at our clients. When I joined consulting or did any job post grad they never asked for my GPA and I never disclosed. If he has his GPA on his resume he should remove it. Then do a masters program later if he wants. For B4 he’ll just need to come in as an experienced hire that’s all

Yep! I think you’re right! He graduated with a Bachelors. He just needs to keep trying.

Should try for Internships too (did he complete any in past summers?). Should also cast a very wide net as well.

He has some operations experience with a small company but no name brand internships mainly because of the GPA 🥴 Thanks though!

Have him apply at Accenture they no longer have a GPA requirement.

Thanks! He applied and will see how it plays out. Thanks for commenting! ❤️

I’m a career coach and in leadership at Accenture. I have a non-traditional/non-technical background and entry into consulting. I also didn’t attend a brand name school. Happy to help if you’re/he’s interested. DM me or message on LinkedIn @thecareernomad.

Had a 2.8 in college. Currently working for an IB and making 200-250 all in. Having a low GPA isn’t the end of the world

Wow! Thanks for sharing!

Can he repeat some classes or do an MBA program at a more recognizable school?

I agree! He’ll just have to keep networking until he lands something 🥺

For those of you that have an MBA, was it worth the effort and money? I'm considering going to Georgetown full-time and would really appreciate any insight from folks on the other side.

Opened drawer at my client site desk and found 5 old ID badges in the back. Googled the names - all from other consultancies. Graveyard? Should I get the fuck out of this place?

I’ve been super back and forth on spending my well being subsidy on a HermanMiller Aeron or Embody. I don’t live in or near a city that sells these chairs so I can’t try them out before hand. I spend almost all day at my desk (work + studying + gaming) so I’m leaning towards this being a good investment. If you have one - is it worth the price? Is their return policy actually as good as it’s hyped?
