What?? That's criminal. PWC Offers 6 months. I know wildly on the opposite end, but I'm grateful
2 weeks when I had my children. It would have been a blessing to have your package in 2002 and 2005 for mine!
In Canada - we get 12 months of employment insurance form the government that can be spread out over up to 18 months. Most companies offer top up, I get 6 months fully paid after which I only get government EI
Yeah it’s super low and I’m not sure how long it’s been since it was adjusted. We were able to save up a bit before having our LO to cover costs, but also more and more companies are offering paternity leave. So my husband gets 2 months paternity leave at full pay, so I’m taking 10 months off and then he’s taking his leave, so it’s the few months in between where one of our salaries was reduced to employment insurance amount. No idea how single parents or those who can’t save up beforehand do it

16 weeks + 3 weeks additional paid vacation
Yeah a lot of my EY California friends take like 6 months and it’s paid. Rest of us get a solid 4 months and you can extend with vacation and holidays if the timing works
1 full year with maternity benefits. I’m in Canada 😃
You have to check. It’s as per the salary range
0 paid leave. I worked until the week I gave birth and went back to work 4 weeks (unpaid) after giving birth. This was the case with both of children as I had them back to back.
I worked for small to mid size companies that had me believing I was too invaluable to take off. I will never do that again.
12 weeks unpaid under FMLA.
Unfortunately in the great nation of US we aren’t entitled to paid leave. We will get up to 12 weeks unpaid leave through FMLA so long as they have worked at the company long enough. Also check into the individual state laws. Hopefully if they are paying her for the 4 weeks she’ll be able to use her own PTO for the rest of the time she needs.
Many states have paid leave now - depends on where you are in the US but here in MA we can take up to 20 weeks paid depending on your employer. At the very least you get 12 weeks paid.
1 year in Canada
First baby - up to 12 weeks unpaid because I hadn’t been there for a year. If I had been there for a year it would’ve been 12 weeks paid.
Second baby - 16 weeks paid.
Maternity leave was STD at 60% for 12 weeks. --> the 2 fortune 500s I worked for.
My new company is 100% for 8 weeks and then 60% for another 12 weeks. Smaller company.
I'm in Texas.
16 weeks paid for all parents, 8 additional weeks for birth parents all at full pay. Automatic option to take an additional eight weeks unpaid but with full benefits at the end of the paid period.
Canada here. 1st kid I had 12 months. 2nd kid, I took 4 mons, hubby took 8. I realise we can govt help, no help from company - I just couldn't imagine going back after 4 weeks. At that point you are on zero sleep and your body is still healing. So crazy.

0 paid leave through the company. I got 6 weeks at 60% pay through short term disability insurance (which I paid for), and used about 2 weeks of my accrued PTO and sick time. Unfortunately I had to use about a week PTO before the baby was born bc I had some minor complications and my doctor advised I take bed rest. I ended up quitting my job because putting my baby in daycare at 8 weeks old, following a traumatic labor where I legitimately almost died seemed insane. She’s 4 months now and I’m job hunting. Honestly I’m very lucky I was able to do that - but it just shows how messed up paid leave is in this country.
Had a very similar situation ♥️

~3 months total including STD and parental leave
My friend who works at Netflix took the 1 year from the company. Not sure Netflix still offer that long but can find out. I quit when my maternity leave (3 months) was over & went back to corporate after they turned 4. I’m in TX
My job didn’t provide any paid maternity leave but they told me I could use my own PTO.
4 weeks paid, 6 weeks short term disability paid for by employer, can take 12 fulls weeks off. I had to cover the rest of my pay with vacation and sick time.

6 weeks disability for giving birth (or 8 if c section). Although you get to go on leave a week before due date and my kids are always late, so the disability doesn’t start clocking until baby is born, giving me a few free weeks off before the chaos begins…
10 weeks paid parental leave (both men and women get it)
Up to 6 unpaid weeks if you want it
So 16 paid weeks from the day baby is born, but then you can take as much of your 4 weeks vaca as you want after. With my September baby, I was able to double up by timing it so I did my disability, then that years vaca and personal days plus the holidays that passed through the vaca time which gave me 5 weeks instead of 4. Then I did my paid parental 10 weeks which crossed into the new year, followed by my 4 weeks vacation for that new year.
All in all, I got 2 weeks off before baby was born and 25 weeks after she was born. She was just shy of 6mo when I transitioned back.
4 months, 100% pay @ PNC once you hit a year in employment! I was just a few months over a year in when I delivered.
9 weeks paid, plus 3 weeks parental leave that you can take immediately to make 12 full weeks or you can take them at another point in the 12 months after birth. You don’t have to use any sick or vacation days.
