I have a final interview next week. Hiring manager said they would pay for my flight out. Recruiter had no idea about it and said she would follow up and update me end of business yesterday. I never heard back and am now getting nervous. Should I just book flight since airfare going up?

Not yet. Confirm with the hiring manager and Cc: your recruiter: will company book the flight for you (they’ll need all kinds of info on you to book a flight for you) or if you should book it yourself and submit for reimbursement (and what will be needed to submit for reimbursement).

like

Definitely not. They are probably asking because the want to have an idea of your expectations and they want to hit the target if they choose to send out an offer letter. I would follow up with them about the online meeting details and ask them what the internal compensation range is for that position. This will give you an idea of what they can offer and allow you to see if it’s a range you’re comfortable with.

Never pay for travel with your own money. You are not set up to submit invoices for reimbursement at any external company. Company-sponsored travel is always booked via the company’s travel portal. Let them do all the arrangements for you.

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I have been offered a lateral move within my company to a role I (believe) I will be more interested in that will suit my skills more. However, I’ve now been offered a promotion in my existing Role, and have heard that this is a pretty big deal and almost fast track to Director. Am I mad to pass up a promotion for a lateral move that is unlikely to promote me for some time?? I’ve been in my existing role almost 2yr. Will it affect my future growth? I’m 30 so would love to be a director soon

Would you tell your boss you’re looking for a new job?

My boss in the past has mentioned he would like employees to let him know. I am currently starting to look and interview. If I told him, it would be under the reason of the difference in timezone (which is partially true, most of my team is in Europe and I’m on PT). I tend to think letting a boss know is a bad idea, but interested in hearing from others.
