I have a friend who has developed anxiety issues due to work stress. How prevalent would you say this is in our industry? Have you experienced anything like this?

Everyone else seems to be finding jobs so quickly after being laid off… I’ve been searching for 5 months and keep hitting walls. I’m tired. Depressed. Angry. Sad. I had to start therapy again because it’s all too much and is affecting my ability to function day-to-day. I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. How are people able to do this?

At this moment, I am almost depressed. I am in a relationship with this guy for 2 years now. In the past 2 years, we have fought more than we have lived days with peace. We both have high ego problems because of which it’s really hard to resolve a conflict. Things have recently escalated to calling names/swearing and even physically abuse from both sides. We both want to end the relationship, have tried so many times, but we cannot.

Associate in the NY office of a magic circle firm. Been really struggling with mental health issues for a long time - I feel like I’m begging for guidance/supervision and not getting any, and can’t get any support junior-wise either. I just get told I’m doing a “good job” but I’m pretty sure that’s just because no one is looking. Is the expectation just to magically figure out how to get things done solo, even if it’s the first time to do it? Is it better at NY-HQ firms that have more resources?

Is it possible to be genetically predisposed to gain muscle? Ever since I was little, my doctors always commented on my BMI but never worried given how muscular I was. Since playing sports in high school and now regularly working out (cardio and weights) as an adult, I feel like I always maintain muscle mass, whether I do mostly cardio or not. This has resulted in bulking but now as I’ve tried to cut the past month, I’m not seeing weight loss. I’m counting all calories and feel stronger tho!

After my HSG and SHG I now have to do an MRI of my pelvis because the RE wants a better picture of one of the fibroids. They said if it is pushing into my uterine wall then it needs to be surgically removed. And if that’s not the problem then IVF is the next step. But I don’t want to do IVF nor can I afford to. 😔

My therapist just told me I'm depressed..do you ever feel like they tell you things you hear a lot or could have figured out on your own? Like take care of yourself, it's ok to feel such and such, etc. I'm still newer to therapy so wondering if that's the common experience? Do you ever have moments where you're like wow that actually is eye opening and I wouldn't have gotten that from reading self help books and websites etc?

She was rightfully uncomfortable and expressed her concerns to our team. The CD on the account has come to me, as her manager, to discuss if she’d be better off on another account as he doesn’t think the culture on the client side is going to change. Interviewed for S&O role and wanted to share. Recruiter told me to expect problem solving and stakeholder comm, behavioral and case type questions… It ended up being one 25-min interviewee-led case. I was surprised given all that I had read online about RRK and GCA and Googleyness and the pride Google has in its “unbiased”interview process… it felt like any other MBB interview where your case interviewer decides your fate… guess S&O is just like any consulting firm…
