I’d say after an offer is made

like

Offer in writing is made & accepted.

Only after offer is made and accepted. But she should check and see if there’s a minimum employment clause for maternity leave at the new spot before accepting - a lot of places require you to be an employee for a year before you’re eligible

True. I always wonder what would happen at these firms if someone got pregnant within the year. Like would they really expect them to just hop on a plane again after exhausting their two weeks’ vacation for the year?!

After the offer is made. However she will not qualify for protected leave for when she gives birth. The federal protected leave FMLA is only after 12 months of service (amongst other requirements). Most likely the organization will still give her maternity leave and hold her job for her but they are not legally obligated to do so- so there is the risk. She also will likely not qualify for any paid maternity leave programs the new company has as that tends to be for employees with at-least 1 year is service . But take the job and then disclose the pregnancy.

Agreed after an offer. I have a friend who recently started a new job in her 3rd trimester. She did not disclose until the end of the interview process when she knew she was going to get an offer. It was a non-issue for the company, she started, and after a few weeks ended up going on mat leave (paid).

Our nanny takes my 7 month old out for one, sometimes 2, long walks every day (weather permitting). Love the idea of fresh air every day but its often for several hours at a time and he always returns home crying bc she's pushed him to his limit between feedings. She brushes it off saying hes just fussy which kind of irks me. Im also concerned that he's spending too much time strapped in a stroller. Is it reasonable to ask her to take shorter walks? Am I overreacting?
