Are you living life the way you want? I feel like I'm winning by all traditional metrics. Beginning to feel that I never chose those metrics myself and that's the cause of my loneliness.

like

I mean, on the face of it, I’m winning. I just feel that better decisions would’ve left fewer scars.

This, is the beginning of your search for a purpose. I am in the same boat. Wait, perhaps a different boat. I don’t know.

like

It’s not just you, everyone does this in some capacity. I think to myself all the time about what my life would be like if I made different decisions but at the end of the day, as long as you’re happy then it’s only just daydreaming. And given that you’ve got so much good in your life, I wouldn’t think twice about it

Give Cognitive Behavioral Therapy a shot. I’ve been seeing someone that specializes in it and it’s helpful in changing perspective and breaking habits

It’s good to reflect so that you know where you came from and hence be proud of where you are going. But, don’t over think it especially when you cannot see the good in front of you. Are you doubting your decisions or simply wondering what if you had taken a different road? If it’s the latter, then it’s no point wondering something that never happened. You will never be satisfied and will keep missing to live in the moment.

This is my movie idea. I love the thought of going back in time and changing the trajectory of your life. Will you end up in the same place? How will things be different? Relationships. Conversations. All those things left unsaid and undone. I spend a lot of my life in this space.

someone save this attorneys job. I hired an attorney with 5 years experience. I send her assignments and usually the law we're using. She never reads the breifs or memos we've prepared. Does her own research and usually misses the points. When I ask why she says she's intimidated by the memos etc and they're "hard". That drove me up a wall. We don't get paid to do easy things. Just because it's hard you give up? WTF.
