I have a JD working at a small law firm. Is a contracts manager position a good entry level role to try and move up the in house ladder?

Probably not. It’s more operational than legal. Two caveats though - one, the company you are at might be open to promoting you to a counsel role if you excel in the manager role and show that you know how to review/negotiate contracts. Or, if you found you like the more operational side of things, legal operations is a growing field and more and more departments are looking for those operational skills.

People say no but honestly I've looked at a lot of LinkedIn profiles where people move from contracts manager to internal counsel at their company so your mileage may vary

Working on applications for academic positions (tenure-track), and finding it extremely difficult to write a research statement that is not too close to my current research that hiring faculty would think I lack originality, but also not too far-fetched/unrealistic or on topics that I find interesting but has insufficient knowledge/expertise.

Any tips?

Hi, we're searching for a job in HR for my wife. She's an MBA from India and has 10 years of work experiences across various HR roles in FMCG and Tech. Her last role was a HR BP and India site lead for a US based semiconductor major.
Is CIPD necessary to get a comparable role in the UK? While we undersrand it's a new market, would she necessarily need to start from a basic role again? It's difficult to balance studies, work and manage a 2 y.o. Any pointers or job openings would be appreciated.

Hi Fishes

I'm holding offers from Accenture and Wipro,

With A it is a generic opportunity where the work and the client would be decided after joining. But the learning opportunities would be more.

With W it was a client interview and the client is one of global leader in financial service and I really like to work with this client.

W's pay is 2-3L higher than A.

This is for Cybersecurity domain where A is comparatively better.

I'm looking to stay for long term, Please help me decide.

I work for a small company and about 2 yrs ago was hired as a staff accountant. Well they told me when i first started that i would also be the office admin because they didn’t have anyone (which makes sense since there’s not enough work for a full time). However I’ve since been promoted to senior accountant and getting more acctng tasks. We just hired a full time HR person and i was going to propose to my boss to move the office admin part of my role to them.

Is that a weird ask of me?
