I don’t see a way out of this mess while people make a bunch of money from driving the division.
Honestly this is all a backlash to the vaccine mandates, the inflation which he couldn’t do much about since the economy has started reopening and demand has skyrocketed compared to a much weaker base of last year. Supply chain issues are also making it worse. And yes the infrastructure bill which while well intended is facing lot of obstruction from two or the moderates in his party There is also lot of fake outrage about kids being taught CRT in schools.
D1 - you're confusing the infrastructure bill (which has bipartisan support, but is being blocked by the progressives) with the reconciliation bill (which lacks bipartisan support, and therefore needs Manchin and Sinema)
Would have been good if he could have unified his party to drive legislation to address the country's needs.

It’s a “body of work” issue for the whole party. Biden and Dems haven’t accomplished or passed anything truly substantive in decades with one exception…the ACA - and that is essentially a subsidy to insurance companies and riddled with issues and skyrocketing costs as well. What the dem party needs is an FDR.

I despise trump just as much as the next guy. I’m an independent voter who’s voted for both parties over the year. Here are my list of issues that work against Biden: - inflation - covid policies (why am I wearing a mask after I’m vaxed?) - Afghanistan debacle - gas prices - supply chain crisis - boarder crisis - 0 leadership. He’s falling asleep in meetings, he can’t form a coherent sentence. He doesn’t motivate or get anyone excited about his presidency

Cb solutions read my post above. It ABSOLUTELY can be affected by policy.
He should have read the population and recognized that he did not have a mandate, but needed to be a uniter. Instead of massive undertakings, he should have compromised on smaller bills on a one at a time basis. Also , his decisions impacting energy will haunt us for quite some time. $4 and $5 gas is a tax on the lower and middle class that was unnecessary.
M1, a couple of points: 1) I do work in oil and gas—exclusively—and I have for the past 12 years. I am sitting in an E&P company’s office now working on a major project. Just because you aren’t working in the industry doesn’t mean nobody is. Why would I lie about this? (Hint: I wouldn’t, because I don’t have to). There is definitely demand for professional services, in fact the market hasn’t been hotter since 2010. 2) The main driver for layoffs was price and capital discipline. The US onshore industry has relentlessly destroyed shareholder value for the past decade. Now, the smarter E&Ps are avoiding the past knee jerk ramp-up in capital spend. THAT is the main reason demand for OFS is down. But, if you have looked at the Baker Hughes rig count, it is actually UP from last year and earlier this year. 3). Working as a drilling engineer doesn’t exactly make you T. Boone Pickens. I’m sure you know a lot about the industry…just don’t think you are the only one who does. My O&G clients think I know enough to pay seven or eight figures for my team’s knowledge, so assume it’s >0.
D1 - I’ve been struggling with this… republicans say they hate stimulus and they are more likely to run the debt up. Democrats say they hate division and then the put in policies based on race. 🙈

Giving it when left leaning health experts shut the economy down. $$$ doesnt grow on trees. The real question is whether we need an additional 1-3.5 trillion when inflation is at all time high. Did any of you take economics 101?

Republicans over the past few years have so far passed more progressive economic stimulus to everyday people compared to Dems. Let that sink in a bit.
And also this..
His general platform was I’m not Trump/i’ll unite the country, I’ll take care of the virus, and I’ll get things back to normal. Only thing he delivered on was not actually being Trump, but somehow has still become a hated political figure. Covid/lack of normalcy is not necessarily his fault, but he isn’t doing much to help himself either.
Wait - are we talking about Biden here? Who literally put his iPhone on away mode while Afghanistan was crumbling? I personally know an Afghan immigrant who now has family in Japan, Ukraine, France, and Afghanistan’s because of this debacle. There’s no way you can say he did a good job on the exit.
I think he’s doing a fine job. I’m a republican but voted him bc I don’t want trump there and expected Biden to do nothing. I think his vaccine and mask mandates are good. It’s just that this guy seems to have zero energy or shows any charismatic leadership like the majority of the past president figures. Afghan is another example of just lack of leadership to influence coordination between his military and administrative function. Also-Granted I haven’t read too much about that human infrastructure bill, but them initially trying to put social benefits in an infrastructure bill instead of labeling it accurately seemed sneaky to me. Anyways, just small things diminishing my confidence, but overall he’s alright. He’s not trump so I’m good
