I have a question for Microsoft employees? I had an interview for a technical program manager position on May 5th. I was told I have done really well and my recruiter said I had a lot good feedback and would like to move forward with me. For the last couple weeks I've been asking about updates and keep getting "we are looking to get you placed" or "just waiting for the hiring manager". Has anyone else experience this? I am still really interested but it feels like nothing is happening.

How to ask for a raise or adjustment and get one? I have year end reviews coming up with my boss. I have been contacted by a few competitor firms for an open para position starting about 10-15k more than I am making now. One para who was recently hired came from one of those competitor firms so I’m guessing she is making 10k more than me at minimum. I enjoy my boss and team, but also love the idea of an extra 10-15k in my pocket!

About 6 months ago I applied for a team lead role and didn't get it. My boss, in recognition of my efforts (and maybe being a little scared that I'd quit) gave me a 13% raise, and minor promotion to get better clients. NOW I applied for another team lead role (2nd interview soon, wish me luck), if I get it, could withhold a raise from me? Or maybe short me on a raise because I already got a bump this year? I am on a High Deductible Plan at PwC and recently had a child where the total hospital bill was close to $9K. Is there anyway I can negotiate with the hospital (or with anyone else) to bring this amount down? I talked to them and they were not willing to provide me any discount, rather asked me to opt for payment plan. Not sure how the healthcare system works in the US as I am new to this country. Please help.
