Are you sourcing or just servicing clients?
As associate advisor I would do both. The primary focus would be to service existing clients (trading, paperwork, etc.), onboard any new clients and then have the capacity to collect my own clients
Doesn’t seem like a bad deal initially to me other than I would expect a higher percentage if I sourced the business. Really depends on how much you’re fed though. I imagine there’s still a lot they’ll have to do.
I would wonder how this progresses because after you pull in enough clients it becomes a no brainer to jump ship. Is there a non-compete?
My coworker in the Seattle, WA area with similar experience was offered a $100k base with 10% commission for a full prospecting position. This coworker’s pay has a flexible 2-year cliff during which he can permanently turn off the base and start receiving 20-30%(depending on revenue targets hit). At 2 years the base turns off regardless. Certainly a different structure, but also with no easing into new clients under more senior advisors.
Its hard to give an answer. How big is the senior advisors book? That is going to make a major difference. Also, after three years why are you still only an associate? Is that the common track for your company?
Yes till you earn the CFP or ChFC only problem is that there aren’t programs within the firm to reimburse or assist it the designations (self funded) and cost of living is so high that 8,000 isn’t something easily to attain. The book of business is 120M
That is low. I would def negotiate more. Or find somewhere else that is hiring and see what they offer you.
