I was at a really cool high profile company in a role I loved. My boss constantly gaslit me and it was physically and mentally draining. I left after 2 years because I couldn’t take it anymore. Depends on what you mean by “bad boss” but it my case it was not even a little worth it

Thank you all. I can’t say I have direct knowledge that this person will be a “bad boss” it’s more speculative based on the current situation. This supervisor is only one of three people I would report to and the most junior of them all, so I think I can effectively manage tension. That said, it’s difficult to make such career defining decision knowing there may be tension from the start… on top of the usual growing pains of moving in-house from private practice.

Having had a bad boss, I say run for the hills. You could be the best fit for the role but a bad boss can really mess you up.

I’d say give it a go. I’ve had two bosses quit within 2 months of me joining. One of those times I joined thinking I’ll be working with a super boss, only for a nightmare new boss to onboard. The other time I ended up quickly reporting to my boss’s boss, effectively getting a half promo within a couple months of joining. Also, if the company needed to push out your boss for whatever reason, you might be first in line to take the replacement.

I am in cloud engineering. My current salary is 140k and this is my milestone year to become manager. I have been getting offers from non FAANG companies but capped at 150- 165k. Are the salaries being quoted normal for cloud ? 2. Is it worth leaving at this point of my career or should I make the move

Looking to shift from litigation to corporate roles. Considering these difficult times, does it make sense to take a corporate in-house paralegal position within a large company?
