I have a Roth IRA I throw $100 at monthly (not a lot but figured it's SOMETHING) because I have CC debt I'm trying to pay off. I've been told to pay debt first but the Roth is all I have for any savings or retirement plan and I worry about missing out on the interest it can gain if I don't contribute anything to it. Am I screwing myself up here?

I only wanted to chime in to make sure you’re investing the money in the Roth. Some people put money into the account but don’t actually buy anything with it.

I think it’s a smart move. Retirement will be there before you can blink an eye.

Don’t think so, depending on the Amount of debt. The interest you’ll pay on that debt can be overwhelming.

I will say if it’s going to be over $20k get a HELOC or cash refi the amount if you have a property. The interest is way better to finance than credit cards

Hi there I’m part of a campaign that offers free zoom workshops that talks about personal finance and one of the topics is getting out of debt so if you want the info let me know! It’s completely free and no strings attached

Whoa. You have no savings other than the Roth?

Get a $1k emergency fund. Now. You cannot take market risk when you’re objective is preservation of principal.

Hi!! I love this question and you are totally thinking of the right things here. I work with individuals in similar situations and would love to connect and chat about it! Happy to always help :)

Do folks have trusted/valuable resources for researching luxury family travel with young kids? I don’t care the cost, I want to know what is most convenient and nice for my family. Feel like generally most resources are geared to either a) families on a budget (I don’t care which hotel is best bang for buck w/mid breakfast) or b) couples / adults only travelers. Do folks just stick to true five star hotel concierges for help? Do folks just book luxury tours like A&K? How do folks research?

After reading a few posts, I think Im in the category of being underpaid. I work directly with one advisor. Fully life and securities licensed with series 7. I’ve worked along side the FA for over 6 years now. I do everything from processing biz to handling clients. Other FA on our team come to me for help even though I don’t answer to them. The only thing I don’t do is bring on new clients. I get a base of $45k, 1099inc of 20k, plus about 7k that goes into a WL plan but counted a 1099 inc.
