Staying out of the sun or wearing full clothing is the best thing. But it’s not always practical. Metastatic melanoma is much worse than what you listed. I’m quite sure expensive zinc oxide sunscreens today will blend well. Get some samples from Sephora.
Assurance Associate, I haven’t found sunscreen that only contains avobenzone. I would gladly reapply every 30 min, but they all are mixed up with some kind of substance I don’t trust
You can always choose a mineral spf instead of a chemical one. Sunscreen isn’t just about being burned or not burned. The sun is the number one cause of premature aging, and you can also get sun damage and potentially skin cancer which is different than just getting burned. Elta MD, SuperGoop, and Bliss have good options for mineral SPF that don’t have a major white cast.
You need to look at the specific supergoop and Elta MD mineral options that contain zinc. When it comes to sunscreen, zinc is the clear winner for protecting your skin. Most sunscreens on the market actually cause sunburn and attract the sun..
Ilia makes a great spf tinted face oil. Check out AKT Therapy products as well. Josh rosebrook has great options, just pricier
For those who doubt my views on sun protection. I spent 75% of my life in Scandinavia with long winters and limited sunlight. I might have some depression issues because of that, but my skin is amazing. And I attribute it to a limited sun exposure. So I am a big believer in micro-dosing ultraviolet
It’s more like choosing between being poisoned and getting cancer, if that helps you choose. I use one that has zinc oxide from BeautyRx (brand created by a dermatologist in NYC). It is white just like face cream. Doesn’t make my face oily and mix well with my makeup.
Oh, I just checked out BeautyRx. It looks like a great brand aligned with my strategy of only using ingredients I understand. Thanks for recommendation! Appreciate it!
And benzophenone is cancerogenic. Also it harms sea corals.
Zinc oxide - relatively safe, but it’s not colorless, it’s hard to imagine wearing it on your face every day.
Fascinating!! What’s your recommendation??
