9 yr JMO transitioning from USMC. 2+ YOE in cybersecurity. Got an offer from PwC for SA in cyber risk and reg. 114 +10 sign bonus. Was looking for around 130-140. Thoughts on negotiating the bonus or base up closer to the original numbers I’d given them? It’s virtual position and I’ll be out of SA, TX. Thanks for any advice.

If your MBA is from a reputable school, aim for DAS.

SA1, this isn't a unique KPMG thing, this is how consulting firms grow organically. You can avoid it if you go to a more established strategy firm (because they're not growing as fast as we are).
I find it amusing. When the downturn came in '14 you couldn't get a callback if you had O&G on your CV. In '22 if you have +5 yrs in O&G firms think it's a godsend.
Yep, I got laid off in spring of ‘15 and struggled to find anything that paid even remotely close. I finally almost made it back two years later.
I come from O&G but let’s talk. What’s your experience?

Houston, SoCal will not be too different and CA taxes will eat away any difference. The pool will also be cheaper in Houston.
Where’s the MBA from?

Yes
We have an O&G practice out of Houston that we are actively building
We always are looking for laterals with the right experience. Feel free to DM me any questions
I would strongly consider EVS (either Business valuation or tangible asset valuation) in Houston. They do a lot of oil and gas work and with your experience and masters, I’m sure you would be a valuable member of the team there.
Ironically, 2014 was when I started in O&G. I was working pt towards a MechE degree while working full time at a process technology engineering firm. It was a tough time. I'm super thankful for all the engineering experience sans the degree. I was doing the same work as a MechE 1 and 2 (minus TechBidEval) by the time I finished undergrad. I sold out and went for a const mgt undergrad due to me approaching the big 40 (somewhat interesting story behind this).
DM for a referral, have a hot streak of recent hires.

If you're optimizing for pay, any other Big4 will pay more, t2 even more, MBB the most.
