Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ll preface with I’m new at this and learning. But I’m researching if I should do an IRA or back door Roth IRA. And maybe I don’t fully understand how taxes work but what is the benefit of a Roth? From my understanding, the amount of tax you pay is mainly based on your tax bracket. Wouldn’t I pay far less taxes (thus inadvertently getting more money) with a traditional Ira since me being retired would put me in a lower tax bracket than me well along in my career?
