I have a start date for my new job in two weeks, and I know I’ve passed all pre-boarding requirements. Still haven’t received onboarding paperwork/details. When does that typically get sent out? In my experience, it’s been pretty immediate upon completion of required tests and checks. Just curious to hear how others in HR handle this.

I had two jobs who sent me that info on the thursdays before starting on a Monday.

like

Same experience as above. We used to send it out the Thursday or Friday before your Monday start

like

I wouldn't worry until the Thursday or Friday before your start date. Can be frustrating but that's usually the way it goes. I would prefer we sent them out two weeks ahead but that isn't the standard anymore.

That’s great to hear, thank you!

Guys did anyone attend an interview with Comcast recently. All the negotiations are over and they are yet to release an offer even after 3 weeks. Saying that some finance clearance from the US has to come. But saying they will offer for sure and it will take 1 more week. Now I am waiting for almost 4 weeks for an offer. My probation ends by this month in the present company and post that I should serve 90 days notice. Anyone who has attended recently please share ur experience and timeline. Thx

Should I make that clear to my superiors before offers are given out or will that hamper my chances at getting an offer in the first place? Thanks for the help

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

I just logged in for open enrollment and see that my benefit costs are increasing quite a bit. Family of 4 - medical/dental/vision will be about $345/pay period plus whatever I contribute to my HSA. Is this the norm now or is this way too much? We are also on an income based rate plan and I recently crossed into the bottom of the most expensive tier so it’s an even bigger hit over the normal YoY increase.

Ok if the work environment is toxic and the manager totally unsupportive ... And eventually you leave the job ... During interviews when the HR asks you why did you leave the job ? Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?

What’s the best HR certification? I’m looking to move to a generalist role from DLS (not with Amazon). I’ve been in disability for the past four years though so I think getting PHR/SHRM would be helpful for transition.
