I have a state job and recently I was nominated by my boss to be selected for a two-year certification curriculum as a Certified Public Manager. Has anyone had experience with the particular certification? Is it lucrative to take it or would it be a waste of time? I work for the State because it gives me more time with my family but as I am sure you can understand, I would like to make more money. Would a C.P.M. help me in that pursuit?

It's also important to note that I have been licensed for 4 years and for the first three years I worked in family law litigation at a non-profit legal aid before coming to work for the state.

Currently interviewing for a GC role at a crypto-focused hedge fund. They’re mostly focused on VC deal experience, but would prefer someone with some compliance experience. My background is in M&A and Capital Markets, so I have little-to-no crypto-fund compliance experience. I’d like to show them I’m serious about learning though. Anyone know of a good way for me to get some quick, relevant experience? Maybe a course, certificate program or other training I could enroll in to bolster my resume

Anyone out there in a role like this? Any books. videos or even best practices to share?

4th yeah here. Most likely moving to a different state in 2 years for my husband's fellowship. Recently made it into the L&E area. I will find out at the end of 2023 where exactly we will be moving. Not sure how to best prepare myself for this transition. Don't know if I should try to get a fully remote job as soon as I can given my state does not have reciprocity with any states. Worried about taking another bar exam and being jobless for several months. Anyone been in a similar position?

Hi! I just passed the bar and I’m passionate to become an environmental attorney. The problem is I don’t have much experience because I took an accelerated edu track where I was still taking classes in the summers instead of getting experience. I’ve been focusing on applying to enviro positions in nonprofits and fed/state governments. Is this hopeless? Is it possible to start in an enviro attorney position straight after law school? Should I give up and just succumb to a big law tort firm? Thxs!

Help me understand: I applied and firm asked me for a meeting with a partner. Met with partner and it went well. At end of interview, partner told me that the firm has already brought on junior associates and cannot take on any more until around Q1 maybe (which I already knew and was fine with) but this means the firm cannot commit to continuing the interview process yet and I should keep in touch and f-u in a few months.

My Q: why start the process with first meet and then pause?
