When you figure out, let me know. My son is 4 by the way...
While this isn’t weight loss advice, I found doing some clothing rentals (eg rent the runway) helped me with the depression that I don’t fit in many clothes, but don’t accept my body enough to buy new clothes. It’s a bit of denial, but had really made me feel better by not wearing the same few things over and over!
This is cliche but try to remember it took 9 months to put on, it’s not all going to fall right off so give yourself some grace. Otherwise a lot of discipline like STA1 said. If you find it hard to do on your own, join something to help with accountability (like classes at the gym or weight watchers, something more than just telling yourself you’ll do it if that helps)
I woke up when my youngest was 1.5 (pregnant or nursing for the prior 4 years) and just needed to take back control and feel comfortable in my body again. Not having any more kids and I finally felt ready. I joined Stronger U. They focus on macro counting and you have a coach you check in with weekly. I knew I needed to put some $$ towards accountability. It's been just over 1 years, 50 pounds gone (working on the last 10) and I know how to fuel my body and maintain the weightloss. Best money I've ever spent.
Get stressed out and forget to eat
😭 Would rather have a bit of chub and peace of mind! Chub = better comfy cuddles and hugs!!
:( that's tough. I do recommend being realistic about goals, focusing on heath rather than weight, hydrating (tough to remember when busy!) and packing healthy snacks to minimize junk eating in the office. Also, make sure you have some cute clothes that fit your current, awesome body that takes care of your little one- it will help you feel better about your current body! As others said, exercise is always good and will prep you for running after a toddler in a year 😂 you can even do certain workouts while taking baby on walks
Eat right, exercise, and try to get enough rest to make you feel like a human. If at 6 months the scale isn’t budging, talk to your doctor.
I realized this wasn’t super helpful as soon as I pressed post. I like the Sweat app (Kelsey has an at home strength work out). While on mat leave, I tried to walk for 90 minutes+ a day. Nothing fast but my baby and I both enjoyed being outside. I met mom friends doing this as well which was really nice. After coming back to work, I got a peloton where I can get a 30 minute spin in before the baby wakes up. I also made healthy salads for lunch and try a protein and veggie for dinner. I also like the book cook once, eat all week. We cut all the recipes in half but they’re decently healthy, pretty good, and easy even when crazy busy.
I started Noom about a month ago and I like it a lot. It focuses on reducing calories and the psychology of food. Good luck!
