I have a trip planned to NYC/Boston at the end of September. With all the cases going up and mandates, what are the chances we go on another lock down? Trying to see if I should cancel this trip.

I gotta disagree with K1 here. Living in NYC now and feels like we’re not far away from another full shutdown. Even if not, the vaccine checks to get in everywhere will be a major hassle. If you can get money back now, I would.

Disagree with you @EY1 - personally not seeing us return to a lockdown any time soon. As for the vaccine checks to get in everywhere - how is that a major hassle? Flash your pass/QR code and it’s done. Same time as your ID/ticket. Went to Barclays last month and it was barely noticeable.

Wait until you HAVE to cancel to get on the ride of it not being your choice but due to Covid

I think it depends what you’re looking to do. Personally I can’t imagine we’d go into full shutdown or anything like that, just requirements for masks in public and maybe reduced dining capacity. If you’re looking to go rage at bars then yeah I’d say borderline, but if you’re just looking to come see some sites and eat at restaurants I think you’ll be safe. I would doubt there’d be a complete shutdown of businesses but that’s just my thought.

You’ll be fine for Yankees game. I went to a concert at citi field last night. It was very close to normal times.

Living in NYC. I think there’s zero chance of another lockdown. I don’t even know what people think that would mean. We had a massive spike in NYC along with the rest of the country over the winter. There was no “lockdown.” They limited capacity for indoor dining a little. Are there some specific things you want to do that you’re worried about?

If you are vaccinated you will be able to do more things indoors like plays and concerts. Even without You’ll be able to do museums, outdoor dining, bars, shopping, sightseeing.
