I have about 200k just sitting in cash in a high yield savings account that’s earning about 2% interest.

With how grim the stock market is doing I’m not really sure what I should be doing right now with this cash, if anything at all. I’ve already maxed out my 401k for the year, bought up maximum amount of I-bonds ($30k) for my family of 3, any advice on how I should (or shouldn’t) invest the rest?

In a similar situation with ~$150-200 K cash. Looking to join a syndicate but I don’t know anyone who is part of one. Hoping to meet someone who has had a positive experience with some that may be willing to include me in future opportunities.

Are you an accredited investor?

What does the rest of your portfolio look like?

Thanks for the recommendation Chewy 1, initial research shows that those are promising REITs, will need to dive into the financials some more!

No interest in buying up personal real estate ATM Accenture 1, I already have 2 rentals and they’re already a handful so I’m not sure if I have the bandwidth to commit to adding more right now. Thank you for the input nonetheless

If I had that cash available I would be looking for attractive real estate deals over the next 3-6months.
As rates keep rising prices will keep falling, and when the fed needs to they will pivot and you’ll be able refi out of the currently high interest rates.

The only reason I like the actual real estate market is because you can get a lot of leverage for cheap. If you have 200k you can buy 1M of assets.
But if you’re looking for hands off, you’re probably right with the REIT route

OP - do you mind sharing which HYSA account you are using?

Using Ally, they just upped their HYSA rate to 2.10% as of yesterday

REITs looks enticing but have to be careful. Some REITs have interest rate exposure while others don’t as they have fixed rates on their debt for the foreseeable future. Read investor presentation and 10Q before investing. Also look at their tenant lease expiration dates, what class of properties they own, etc.

I've got a job offer from a small IT company. But before releasing the offer letter, they want me to accept a terms and conditions form which has this 10th point as shown in picture. It states failing to join them will result in paying 2 months of salary that's around 130000 rs.

Is it for real? If I get a better offer somewhere else ane don't join them, will I really have to pay this to them? Please help friends. What should I do?
