I have accepted an offer.

My “future boss” will go on paternity leave within 30 days of me joining the new company.

How can I make it easier for myself and worthwhile for my boss to trust me while he is gone?

Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Nice raise you’ve got, congrats!!

Learn what he does and what the team does as quickly as possibly and try your best while gone. Try to step up and be a leader when possible when he is out.

Create a point of contact for everybody that you will work with and do your bosses job for the time he is gone

You have to step into his position temporarily. Be familiar with his day-to-day work, obligations and responsibilities. Reach out to people who are working closely with him.

It shouldn’t. If so, he is a weak leader.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

I am an Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator with 15+ years of experience. I have program management and pharmaceutical manufacturing experience that gives me additional unique experience. My first 3 months will be training for my position but I will be paid the same. The job hasn’t offered me a dollar amount yet and I want to be best prepared.

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.
