Anyone here gone from big 4 to MBA to MBB? Any tips? Planning on recruiting for summer internships in the fall but heard “interesting” work experience (I.e., blue chip, IB, engineering) is what gets you an interview, while I have very “uninteresting” work experience coming from big 4. Any insights are much appreciated!!
Does the actual work that you have to do get harder as you get up to higher tiered firms? Say, a strategy boutique in specific industry vs T2 or B4 work?
Delta has seriously messed up the handling of my luggage, over 48 hours with little update. Should I call the medallion line or the complaint line as the slayed baggage reps were no help?
Advice from PwC fish needed.. I posted a week ago about an offer for an A1 “experienced associate” from PwC -team is digital assurance transparency. Even tho I thought that sounded off, I ended up accepting. My letter just said Associate @ 68k base. Now I have access to People Path & my job level says A2. So is PwC on a cohort model, or not? Is there anything I can do here? I pushed back hard on the A1 vs A2 thing b4 signing and the recruiter was adamant I would be an A1
Pros and cons of big 4 TAS vs working for firms like D&P, A&M, and FTI? Also any others I happen to be missing
Both my wife and I work for FAANG companies. As the stock has recently gone through the roof I was wondering if we should try to protect the gains (covered call/put options). Understand we will be giving up upside but we might need to liquidate in about a year or so for a down payment. Any one ever done that? How would you think about the strategy here?
Partner in big 4, mid 40s. Doing okay but lack motivation as I don’t respect what we do or most of my clients. Team is decent and I feel responsible for them but not excited about consulting. Never been in the industry. Very tempted to do a start up. Have a few ideas. I would love some advice. Either how to suck it up and stay the course or being brave to try something new.
CFGI is looking for Accounting Advisory/Finance Transformation professionals with big 4 experience. Location opening included : NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, Dallas, SF. E-mail at email@example.com for more detail.
Admittedly a broad question, but is anyone willing to share their experiences working with/for Olive (The healthcare AI workforce firm)? If anyone here works(ed) there, how is the day to day as compared to Big 4?
What do managers in FDD big 4 make, HCOL market (M1/M2 please). And do you feel fairly compensated for the time you put into your job?
Does LGA actually close to departing and incoming flights after midnight? I’m delayed out of ORD flying Delta and the scheduled arrival time is 1:08 am. 😬
Delta leg 1 got delayed, missed connection, now on red eye 7 hours from now, Delta won't let me in their lounge free as a courtesy (Platinum); red eye won't let me choose Comfort; CSR PP not valid
How common are signing bonuses and/or stock when targeting industry roles at the Director/Sr Director/VP level at non-FAANG companies?
I have a good friend who is looking for a VP of marketing type position coming from a top health system. Minneapolis area, has prior Big 4 experience and an MBA from a top 5 program. Thoughts?
I am new to McKinsey (NA office) and I’m planning my honeymoon for spring. I’m wondering if there are special discounts or portals we can use to book personal travel?
Everyone talks about FAANG and often times it seems like they mean “Google” or maybe fb/amazon. I never hear about Apple. What are consultant exits like there? Anyone know someone who made the jump?
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?
Is Siegfried worse than Big 4 audit? I find it hard to believe something can be worse than big 4 but the reviews I read are so mixed and extreme that makes me think it’s that bad.
Interested in trust and safety! Anyone know resources and how to get into these roles at FAANG + companies?
If you are an associate assisting on a file, you get cc’d on all emails and take time to read them and stay up to date, however you aren’t actually replying to the emails or doing any billable work. But you need to stay in the loop for when you need to eventually draft a document and know the facts. How do you record your time for these emails?
I'm going to be going to MBB over the summer as an intern. I'm also very interested in investing and buy side roles - what are the options I could look at for full time coming from my MBB internship?
DC 🐠, thoughts on living in NoMa? SO will be working at Galladuet - we will only have 1 or 2 days to find a place this month before the move, like apts (online) near union market/harris teeter
Which American express credit card is the best to have in Canada? I just got approved for the Aeroplan reserve card, and not sure to go with this or flexible rewards or cash back!
For many salary breakup I'm seeing medical premium is 3k monthly and 30k+ annually. However when I checked my OL today it's mentioned 1.5k monthly and 20+ annually. Why is this different and what's the meaning of this? Anyway if I'm not wrong the premium is borne by company so does this mean the benefit I'll receive will be less than others... If yes then why!?
Did you all consider other, more academically focused masters degrees? If so, why did you choose an MBA instead?
Anyone here located in the San Francisco Bay Area? Wondering how much you’re making as an EA, years of experience, industry and what city? Want to get an idea on how much I should ask for my raise. Thanks!
Which CC is better for sign-up bonus - Citi Premier 80K points or Chase Aer Lingus/Iberia 100K Avios points? I churn somewhat regularly and am under 5/24 by 1. I think Citi's points are more valuable but maybe I should knock out another Chase card before I'm at 5/24 again, even though Avios isn't as versatile?

Data strategy question: My Fintech organization has 2 banking products, both of which have similar features, but one caters to smaller banks and credit unions while the other focuses on the top 100 banks in the US. The product and engineering teams for both these products operate independently and rarely use any common technology vendors (except AWS, our common infra partner). Does it make sense to have a common data strategy and a single data lake across this products? What are the benefits?
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
Currently at Crowe with a Big 4 offer- financial advisory (Manager). I’m ready for a jump and saw that both BCG and Bain are opening offices in my locale (Denver, CO). I’m assuming they’re going to be staffing up. For those BCG and Bain fish, is it worth it to reach out and to whom?
New York. All talk and no action here when it comes to actual inclusion and not cosmetic efforts.
Is it okay to share private audit clients name during an interview? It’s for industry roles.
What's a good question to ask a potential employer during or after an interview? Leaving public (audit) for industry, but any recommendations welcome.
