PSA 4 anyone looking at media agencies-stay far away from PHD (and Omnicom Media Group in general). As far as I can tell they are 1 of the only companies going from “we encourage you to come in 1x a week” to suddenly “its now mandated that everyone come in 3x week” - Senior leadership has done nothing to address many employees concerns of public safety, Covid, & mental health. Sounds like it’s “we’re paying rent here so let’s make sure we’re using it”. On top of that layoffs seem to be looming
This is a real thing that Lifetime tweeted

As you're not the only one, I hate to say it's likely you'll get a blanket statement. Though the best way to tackle this conversation is to prepare to tell them how much more you've done. You'll want concrete examples showcasing how the work you've added to your plate has been valuable. It might mean you still won't get compensated but it's important to make sure they acknowledge the extra work you've done and get it in writing as part of your review. That way in the next review/checkpoint, it's consistent in your record that you have been a valuable employee and you may be able to leverage it then when the company has money to reward employees. You won't be the only person who wants compensation so build your case why you should on that list when the time comes.

You have to make your argument for why you deserve it. What other people are going through is not relevant. This is between you and your manager. Tell her or him how you’re feeling and what you expect
Is everyone taking a reduced income? You could ask whether your form is being situational in tracking by individual and if so, inquire if they know how you compare to others? (To find out if you are working the same or more for less/more than others in your peer set?) there may be others working more and getting paid less than you. Or there may be others working less and getting paid more. Ask if they can find that out to determine if comp is being assessed fairly.

Step 1: Next time Stan falls asleep in a meeting, ask him for a raise. Then say, “Just say nothing if that’s ok.” Record on your phone.
Step 2: Profit.
