What’s the general timeframe for banks/financial institutions interview process? I find that the process is much longer and tends to drag on. Are there set seasons when these companies will hire in general?

Hello! Any tips on entering mid/big law or in-house upon graduation. Currently, a 3L at a New York school (not top ranked), 3.17 GPA. I do have good work experience working as a state judicial law intern, member of a hybrid SA program between my school and a big-law firm, and currently as an intern working on Smart Contracts and a legal advisor to the company’s CLM team. However, its been difficult to get my foot in the door and I am worried its because of grades. Can anyone provide some advice?

I interviewed for a role with the actual hiring manager more than two weeks ago. After that, the hiring manager gave great feedback, set up a group interview 2 days later. That went great as well and I received great feedback in response to my thank you emails. Since then it’s been crickets. I know part of this time included the 4th, so perhaps no big deal. But I sent a follow up to hiring manager yesterday and no response. Bad sign? Should I follow up with HR rep instead or just wait it out?

Serious dilemma here - im a senior at a midsize firm and I just got permission from the Partner in my current group and the Partner of another group to switch after busy season. Within 3 weeks of that I got my first EVER review of “keep developing” from my current group. I know it’s related because my performance hasn’t changed, but should I speak up and say this isn’t right? I think they are just documenting something negative because attitudes have changed.

How do you deal with a chatty Associate that takes full credit for your ideas or ideas that came out of your coaching sessions? It’s my A3 year and I don’t think my Manager realizes the amount of effort I put into this role for my Associate to be in the positive position they’re in now.
