My firm’s policy requires a minimum tenure in current role before interviewing and switching to another internal role. I’m in interview processes with other firms for the role I want, but would prefer to do that role at my firm. Is there a way to negotiate with HR about this? I understand I’d have more leverage with a final external offer. But I worry by then I’d not have time to secure internal offer by the time the external offer deadline comes. How would you approach? Trying to switch jobs and so far after 125 applications for the last 3 months - only 3 interview calls which I didn't get. 46 not considered, 49 haven't replied or job listing expired. Awaiting response from 24 and 3 interviews scheduled.

Is this a bad time to switch or is it my profile or skillset? I updated my CV, did all I could to get shortlisted but isn't helping much.
