Citi - SVP Salary Expectations for Tech / Controls
Looking at some SVP roles for technology / controls in the Southwest region. Glassdoor indicates $185-240k as range base comp, and target of $185-205k for average base. Is that accurate?
Glassdoor also targets $40k for variable comp. average. Is that accurate?

As a manager with 20plus years of exp and range is only 65 to 85k?? Isnt that underpaid??
What industry? With your management experience and extensive industry experience, 65k - 85k seems low. I would start high and negotiate from there. If you're 100% remote now, you will want to factor additional expenses (tolls, gas, child care, food, etc.) into your figure. Can you negotiate a hybrid work schedule?
80-85k. Start there. You've got two decades of experience. Don't sell yourself short.
Get your verbal offer first. Be on the upper side. And then negotiate.
When salary discussions arise, I often give a number that is 15% above what I want. Employers usually never give what you are asking for and they meet you in the middle or slightly below the middle.
Former comp analyst here. 20+ years of experience almost always brings candidates up to the max. I’d ask for that, especially if you also meet most or all of the preferred qualifications listed on the job description. Keep in mind, the budget may be even higher. I would say 80-85 is your minimum so they know they are going to have to push to bring you on.
Yes absolutely. You should ask for $85 since that’s the range.
You need to ask for the highest amount in that range sir I have 6 years of experience and make over 100k.
What field/industry?
Tell them you're looking in the 95-100k range and ask what their range is. So you'll eventually land on the highest end.
Your pay expectation is within their range so get the written job offer FIRST. Then leverage your 21 years of experience to push the number up. It’s almost always easier to ask for more once the employer has made the decision to hire you. Otherwise you risk getting passed over during the interview process because of a higher request
I would stick with a firm number in mind.
