I would check the specific plan but usually the company you leave covers you through the end of the month. The company you join usually back-dates your coverage to the beginning of the month you start. I did something similar. You'll likely be covered in Dec by your old plan and covered in Jan by your new one.

lots of companies only start coverage for the full month following the start date, so yes, you should check with your new company

I thought there's something that as long as you weren't uninsured for 30 days in the year it doesn't matter?

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Moving out of the US for 5-6 years, does it make sense to keep the 401k as is or withdraw it and pay the fine and penalty as it could still be used as a 25-30% down payment for a house ? The balance is under 70k right now. I will be moving back after 5-6 years.

Those who are or have been AUSAs, what sort of letters of recommendation make the most impact on an application (outside of a former AUSA/judge etc..)? My issue is prior to my current firm doesn’t seem to value the AUSA experience, we have no former AUSA’s in my office and only a view in the whole firm nationwide (same goes for clerks), and I was a transactional associate at my first firm so don’t think anything anyone would have to say would be particularly interesting to a hiring panel...

Hi y’all. So I haven’t technically onboarded for my firm yet, I’m suppose to start in 3 weeks. One of the projects I’m going to be put on requested to have a little interview with people of the team so I had mine today. The “interviewer” didn’t really seem to think I was qualified for this project at the end of the conversation (agree to disagree with him on that). Regardless, am I in trouble for not fitting his criteria/selling myself enough…kinda worried on my manager’s response….

I am on an internal IT audit project. The manager in charge and the director have no IT OR Audit experience. I’ve done both internal and external audits. They both said not to rely on audit standards when discussing gaps with the client. How do you do this? Serious question
