I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM
Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

Need help from Amazon 🐠 Anyone interviewed for Amazon L5 BIE in GSF supply chain team? The JD said basic qualifications include data modeling, ETL, data warehousing and optimization. Any idea or experience how they will test these topics? Asking about related experience? Or show some data and ask how you will deal with that? Or like a case study, given a senario and ask how you think in order to tackle problem? Need advice/idea/experience urgently. Thanks in advance.Amazon @BIE

I'd think Sr. PM or Product Lead would be the logical next step. Are you looking to stay in Product or branch elsewhere?
I’m pretty open to industry.
Do you enjoy PM or are you looking to get back into operations?
Staying in product for sure.
The next role you want to take on I suggest reading 92 ways how to talk to people and hire someone to make a really resume for you. Specifically a copywriter. If you need a recommendation I have a great one. She worked on my resume and I got the job fairly quickly. I didn't change anything in the interviewing style just my resume. But had I read that book I mentioned I would have asked for more money.
It's still better than "incoming $prestigious_firm summer intern" 😂
Automation Test, it’s pretty hard to find a comparable path. I see a lot of senior PMs with 3 to 4 yoe, I also know a few. They started from scratch and worked their way up or leveraged education (sometimes the same as mine) into a Sr position straight out of graduating. Then there are many others that came from a myriad of backgrounds but none like mine 🤷♂️
Basically the LinkedIn comparisons can be a bit maddening. It’s rare that I see anyone’s path matching what job reqs say they want (at least the stuff that is important).
Anyways, I came here for some qualitative feedback from other PMs or those in tech.
