I have been a Sourcer and recruiter for over 20 years in various industries and am a little burnt out. What other roles can I do with this skill set? Anyone out there that has made a career transition with this background? Love to hear!

How to approach work when you’re on the edge of a mental breakdown? I’m really close and can feel it. Only a year and a half into biglaw and sometimes this job truly makes me contemplate every decision I’ve ever made that led me here. I’ve contemplated asking for a short leave, but (1) I love the people (most at least) that I work with and I don’t want to push more work on them and (2) I need the $.

I started in the industry in 07 for an institutional trading desk and then the recession hit and I got out of sales for management. I was in insurance sales for 2 years prior. 15 years in, I am 100% burnt out and currently taking a 2 week vacation. My wife and I are discussing moving to a new city to get a fresh start but I don’t know if I want to continue my MD path or to leave the industry all together. I’m seriously considering using cash/loans to buy a small company and run that. Thoughts?

Working under PAS (mobility tax) for 3+ years and got an offer to go PCS. However the base is slightly lower by 3k from what I am making right now. Title down from senior to tax consultant ll, but re-evaluation in upcoming June and maybe able to get promote back to senior.

My questions is, if the comp got negotiated the same. Doesn’t PCS actually opens more opportunities than global mobility tax in the future? I know I don’t want to be in mobility tax for ever.
