I have been an RN for 2 yrs and 6 m now. I started my nursing in the sub acute unit of a hospital, it was ok i didnt mind it. Right away they made me one of 3 charge nurses and I felt the pressure but I was ok. Switched to outpt GI setting and loved it the only thing I didnt like was not being home with my kids since it was mon-Fri because we were short staffed I would do 10 hr days at times. decided to apply for bedside medsurg. constant anxiety attacks now hate being an RN. Im only 3m in.

I’m sorry you’re hating nursing right now, most of us have been in your shoes at some point. Learning work/life balance is so important…for me, when I identified my priorities and put them first, everything else fell in line. I was able to find a position that supported us financially without taking over my priorities. Even when short staffed I recognized my own limitations and picked up shifts ONLY when I was truly able to do so without shifting my priorities. This helped me prevent burnout and I hope it helps you as well!

There are many options in nursing so find something that brings you joy!

That’s awful! See, I’ve only done ED and ambulatory surgery in my 10 years so I haven’t experienced that…btw I’d highly recommend an ambulatory surgery center! 😅

Hmm…so why is this specific hospital your dream hospital? For you, a priority might be keeping sight of your goal to have a career at this specific facility..nothing wrong with that either! Just don’t lose sight of your “why”

My guess is you are prob in the wrong department so maybe you can hold out for 3 more months so you can do an internal transfer…work hard and make a good name for yourself but take care of yourself at the same time. Hang in there!

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. However he also revealed he started seeing someone casually 4 weeks ago and technically is cheating on her by meeting me for coffee and to discuss this. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out

first call with SF CSG Recruiter is scheduled for Senior Architect role. Appreciate insights from you all.
1. How is work life balance in CSG?
2. What is the typical billability target? Does one have to market oneself for billability or the Practice lead takes care of it?
3. Honestly- I have seen SF people pushing for products which are really not needed by clients. I can never do such a thing - so is there an expectation from the AE’s that Architects should do so?

TIA

Just say no. “Sorry, I’m at capacity”. “Sorry, I can’t get to this till next week”. Everyday I see people on here posting about how they’re going to quit with no new job, or how they’ll take a 50% paycut to go to in-house or small law (neither of which is a guaranty of WLB if you’re wondering). If you’re ready to leave anyway, why are you so bothered about what the partners will say if you just… don’t do it? Most firm’s official requirements are 2000. 2000/12 = 166 a month. (Cont’d)

Should we let her detox at home or is this just asking for trouble? Can provide more details in the comments, but there is a character limit
