I’m moving to Nashville Metro Area, TN and applying to solely Data Engineering Jobs (I have a total of 3 yrs exp & want to get back to it). Anyone have any good recs/websites/tips for estimating salary at this location? I’ve tried the popular websites like levels.fyi, glassdoor and indeed but I find that the ranges differ a lot.

First off, you’re not alone at all. Secondly, do you really think it’s the money that’s bothering you, or something else deeper? Something to think about.
I think a combination of both - almost like I feel behind in life in some way. Definitely need to take some time reflecting!
If you love what you do and you have a good quality of life, that’s something to appreciate. Seeing people get huge salaries and signing bonuses can easily give you “grass is greener” syndrome, especially when saddled with student loan debt but you have to factor in your free time and fulfillment. Those things are invaluable. I always think about my first job which didn’t pay much but allowed me the free time to travel, socialize, and take care of family. Although I needed to move on from it, I am grateful for my time there and wish I appreciated it more in the moment. Don’t let what you’re not getting at your current position rob you of the joy you can get from the positives. Try to be mindful of what’s good right now, even if you decide it’s time for a change in the near future. Best of luck!
