I have been in core banking functions all my life. Now I saw some consulting roles in the big 4s and interviewed for one of them. I am not sure if this is a good move because I have no tech background and just going to be an industry expert if I get in the big 4. I am aiming for leadership roles in the near future. Is consulting the right thing? Would I learn something meaningful that I can leverage to move ahead? Or am I just finding temporary respite

Hello Everyone,

I am working since last 8.5 years. But my prosperous growth is very average. To overcome that i also completed my MBA ans BA course but it's just another piece of paper in my case right now. My basic Education is Electrical Engineering and i work with an OEM. Starting was a struggling phase, did't get the very good start. Thought of changing domain too but always felt short of opportunities. Trying outside India but no luck there too. I want to be into management, suggestions?

Feeling really frustrated and don’t know what to do. Interviewed early March, informed that I moved onto second rounds after ~2 weeks. Was told there would final rounds in late April but they never took place and haven’t scheduled it still.

I move states in July to start my job at D but I really want this MBB role. There’s roommates in my current and possible future state dependent on me to find out where I’m working as well. At this point I also feel very demotivated to study/prep.

Hey everyone please consider this as my Hail Mary.
My notice period got over a month ago.
I resigned from the service based company i was working in because at the time I had an offer. They later mentioned that the offer is contingent on the fact that I get an early release from the 90 days NP, which didn't happen and they ghosted me.
I feel utterly helpless. I have been applying and getting shortlisted almost everywhere but nothing has panned out.
PLS HELP ME.

Looking for advice on how to career pivot. My husband is a general manager for a company that has HQ in a different state so growth opps are limited unless we move. How do I help him pivot into a more corporate job somewhere before it’s too late and he’s pegged as a boots on the ground GM? He has so much potential but I feel like all people see on his resume is that he’s a GM of a location as opposed to an operations leader especially when applying to jobs on LinkedIn. Graduating from part-time MBA in May, have been working as a product manager in tech for 2 years and prior to that 5 years in BI/data analytics. I’m at a new company now and I’m disliking PM more every day. I value WLB and want to be able to take paternity leave when our daughter is born

Married for 14 years with 5 kids. Since the start, my wife has had anger issues. She’s not violent, but will go on ‘anger benders’ for days where she cannot be kind to me, stonewalls, and even leaves. Sometimes this is based on a bad argument; most recently, it’s based in a story she conjured up and believes about me having an affair with my neighbor, even though it is 100% false and I’ve tried to show her that. Is this a sign of a personality disorder? Or something else? How can I support her?

Failure is like digging; you must keep digging to find the treasure.

Our perspective has tremendous power. Use it to dig. Here's how:

- Accept the present situation first before deciding what to do. You can’t change the failure, but you can find your next steps from it.
- You can’t change others, but you have absolute power over yourself. That’s more than enough.
- Be intentional about the next attempt.
- See what others did and how you can apply it to your endeavor.

Any tips or suggestions on what kind of questions to ask during an informal coffee chat with an employee of the company I'll be applying to? This person is not on the hiring team, but it's a small company so I'm sure they'll talk with the hiring team after.

This would a fairly significant career switch for me after being at my current company for just over 10 years (with ~100 employees) to join a newish but profitable small company with only 13 employees.

Thanks!
