So I’m about to start my interview process for Capital One next week for a Senior Financial Analyst position. My recruiter going give me a prep call on Friday but I wanted any advice that recruiters don’t tell you during the interview process. Also I wanted to ask if Capital One a decent place to work at. I will be working at the one in McLean Virginia if that helps.

Could you counter offer to buy more time? Or accept, and if one of the other options work out, then rescind your acceptance.
I have a friend who works for this company (the county, actually), and they do not think they are negotiators. Plus the mid range I was quoted at the beginning of the process is much lower than the offer they’ve given me, which is still on the low side.
Accept and try for later start date, keep interviewing, renege the undesirable if the desirables pan out. Do what’s best for you

If you’re not in a hurry to leave your current employer then pass it up. Keep in mind, though, that you can’t rely on offers you haven’t received yet.
Don’t wast or delay to accept. Usually most HM see it as a signal to let you go and pick the other option.. there’s always a backup in an interview process. Don’t delay.. so you don’t miss out on both..
Accept it why not. I ha e seen many people accept and then turn around and inform that company that another better offer has come around and you will be accepting that offer.
Don’t accept a least desirable company offer unless you’re in an unemployed situation. If you are, tell them you have personal commitments that require a start date in 4 weeks to buy you some time to wrap up with the desirable companies.
If you’re employed, I would pass on the high pressure sales job you’re getting from the undesirable company. Their pressure says a lot.
Currently unemployed. As if 8/26. Layoff.
Take it. Push start date by two weeks. Interview. Let the company know you have an offer a few days after interview. Have the company offer you. If they do, reject the other offer before you start. But because you are unemployed I would suggest taking something. This is what I would do. May be wrong but…
I’d say to reject it, that’s what I did and it was tough with no other option but really think if you’d want to work there
Follow your gut, i was in the same situation 2 years ago, and i rejected it.
