Safe to assume they made an offer and I’m just being put on hold until that person accepts or declines? Worth reaching out to the recruiter or pointless at this point?

I have 5 interviews this week for what would be a move in-house. The last of these interviews is with HR. Typically, when HR asks me for my salary expectations, they're the first interview, so I punt and say something to the effect of "I need to learn more about the position and its requirements." With HR being last, however, I can't really say that. What would you recommend I say to get them to make the "opening bid"?

Baby is sick so we are taking a week out of daycare. I’m working 8-10 hours a day while husband is a fed so he has meetings in the morning and watches tv in the afternoon. He just said he’d take a week of vacation in September just because and because he has so much leave. I asked him to take this week off to care for our baby who is left along most of the day and he said no because he doesn’t want to. Currently a first year big 4 audit associate who does not want to stay in public accounting and wants to be able to teach part-time at a community college/university. I have a Bachelor’s Degree and will have my CPA license soon. Since these schools typically require a Master’s to teach, is it dumb to get a Master’s in Accounting? I don’t have much interest in other subjects for graduate school.
