Currently a Solutions Consultant at Pegasystems.
I am interviewing at and considering making a jump to Oracle as a Specialist Solutions Consultant.
The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.
Thoughts?

Agree with the others. Start as a HRG and determine where your passion is. You will be able to dabble in multiple areas and it’s a great stepping stone for future HR roles.
Absolutely agree because “best” is so subjective! The step to generalist makes sense for exposure. Then figure out what parts of the job call to you most and develop them!
Generalist is fun because no day is the same! Lots of more specialized roles you can pivot after a few years in that role too.
I'd start with the generalist role. That way you can dabble in a bunch of different areas to see if you'd like to pivot to something more specialized.
I think generalist as well! There are a bunch of open doors leading to lots of different places in that position. Perfect if you want to check things out before settling in one!
I was once an HR Generalist and I love the job. You better think of what kind of work you really want to get into then that's the time you make your decision. Do you want to switch from recruiting to payroll and other similar stuff?
