I have been in various customer service/support roles for the entirety of my career but am now interested in transitioning into a HR role. I am on the "Bench" with Disney GHRO (since March 1st) and have no idea if/when I will receive an offer. I have also been invited to interview for HR Contact Center Associate - Work from Home, ERC DLS Support at Amazon. Does anyone have any insight into either of these roles or advice? I do not yet have a degree but plan to go back this fall. Thanks.

I think you should go for the interview, ask lots of questions, and get a better sense of their expectations and the role. That's what I would do, anyway, and it seems like a good time to do it since you have the time available. So, why not explore your options?

Thanks for the response. I am definitely going to go. If nothing else, it will be more interview practice but I am hopeful.

Has anyone, especially corporate juniors tried negotiating with their group on wfh? Fwiw my group is suffering from heavy attrition (even my class is more than 50% gone) and I have a good reputation.

I have an opportunity to become a fractional CMO for a startup that I really like. I have no idea what to charge hourly. I’m reading online $200/hr+ but that seems crazy to me. It would be a 1099 role.

Am I underselling myself if I charge $150/hour for 10 hours of work a week? I typically charge this for my existing freelance rates, but that is not for CMO work.

For all the Google employees, what are some of the perks and policies related to the devices we get eg mobiles laptops etc. and other nice perks that you enjoy? I’m currently hired as a fully remote employee because I’m not in a position to relocate for a year or two, so it would be really good to hear about some perks you can think of for work from home situations (eg allowances etc.). Just trying to understand this aspect given so many things are simply no longer offered (and that’s fine).

I am meeting my mom for the first time after 3 years post pandemic and going to pick her up from SFO airport. Her flight lands around 6 am PST. This is my first time where I will be driving from Sunnyvale to SFO airport and back (30 miles each) and want to avoid FasTrak/Express lanes as I don't want to pay so much money. 1. Does the Google maps 'Avoid tolls' option work in this case? 2. Any tips/tricks on driving such long distances? 3. What documents should I carry with me?

Not sure if someone had faced this with TCS, but would like to share.

Before being interviewed, was asked for the base package and expected, (12 fixed, yoe 3.10), i just asked for a 30-40% hike on that.

Gave the technical interview, had a call for the HR round, where they said we cant even match your base, whats the point of having the interview even then?
