The only real difference, which I don’t personally consider significant is that many Vanguard mutual funds are a bit more tax efficient due to a patent they have that allows many of their funds to avoid making capital gains distributions. Only applies to taxable accounts. I use all fidelity funds in my tax advantaged accounts and etfs in my taxable brokerage.

You'll be fine. Open up a Vanguard account if you really feel like it. Don't transfer anything. Having two accounts isn't a big deal.
There’s no meaningful difference, there’s slight difference in expense ratios and Vanguard funds are structured in a slightly more tax efficient way, but not in a way you’ll notice unless you have an extremely high amount invested in there. At the end of the day they both still track the indices fairly well. You can buy Vanguard ETFs with no transaction fees through Fidelity, but not their mutual funds

I have brokerages with both and Vanguard has the lowest fee funds.
Many of Fidelity’s index funds have lower fees than Vanguard’s
You can buy the vanguard ETFs through your fidelity account. Most of my investments are like that. I think the vanguard ETFs perform a little better and have lower expense ratios.
They should perform the same, maybe slight tracking difference on the index. The vanguard funds are not necessarily lower expense either.

There’s a direct Fidelity equivalent for pretty much every Vanguard ETF, for example VTI = FZROX
Maybe their service starts to suck and you want to leave, maybe you could get a huge bonus by transferring, many reasons you may want to change in the future. I don’t plan to leave but would not want to get stuck with large gains if I wanted to leave.
