I have been looking at a number of Cybersecurity courses/specializations on Coursera. Has anyone taken any of these and recommend one in particular? Is it worthwhile? Or would it make more sense to study for Security + as someone starting out?

Security+ is not super difficult and gives you a “resume item”, I’d only do coursera if you want to learn about a specific topic but nobody is going to care if you complete a course on there.

Fair

Do your CISSP, if you don't have the experience, you get Associate level. It will take you a month or two of good studying. Security+ is a joke - only relevant for Gov roles that require it.

I have my Security+ book from Darril Gibson. It’s very digestible. I keep registering for the classes, but haven’t taken any with the book right there. I feel like the class would need at least an hour of focus, where with the book, you can just pick up for quick reads.

Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book
