I have been looking for a new job for 6 months (not in consulting). I’ve gotten past the first round in some, not in others and I’m just getting defeated. Sometimes I think my answers are not as polished (even if I practice beforehand) which makes me think even though I practiced I needed to do more. But I’m just so tired being a new mom. I feel like I’m not bringing my A game but also just need a change. Any advice? I try to do a few minutes a day.

One of the things that really helped me on my recent job hunt was talking to people who worked at my target companies (bonus points if they recently interviewed) and getting their insight on the interview process, types of questions asked, culture before I even interviewed.

It really helped me feel confident and prepared specifically for that interview as opposed to just bringing my canned answers and experience to the table.

I see people use FB all the time to connect with people at other companies. I’m sure if you ask for help, you’ll find it!

Also, if anyone used to feel that way but dug themselves out of that whole, any advice?

Hello, I do business development for an ADR firm. My background is in legal business management and development and I'd really like to transition to a similar role but not in a vastly different industry. I want to try shifting to SpaceX, Northrop, Amazon, etc. but most of the jobs say they prefer someone with experience in those industries. I love aerospace and tech. How can I transition to these types of companies with BD roles? TX
