I have been really contemplating leaving my company for quite sometime now. Here’s why: 1) recently went and got my MBA completed summer 21 2) I’m nowhere near the salary range I should be in 3) the role I’m currently in is a job that should be two levels(pay grades) higher than what it is 4) my boss is a very nit picky person and we do not collaborate very well at all. What is stopping me from leaving is that I have established rapport within the company, access to senior leaders, and flights

Use that rapport to with senior leader to network yourself into a new position or team… Sometimes just having the conversation about goals is enough to get doors open.

Well I got the role I’m in, in August 21’. The rule is to stay within a role for at least 1x year. Here’s the thing- it would take me at least two more promotions to get to the salary range I should be in

How would you approach moving back into industry after a long career break?

A successful senior software engineering career (15 years+), I took a significant amount of time out due to burnout and caring responsibilities.

Seven years on, my situation has improved, and the industry has progressed. Remote first companies are numerous, and I’m keen to move back into software development.

I would love to hear a recruiter's perspective on this situation.

My sales lead just gave me my quota for the year. Its increased 120% from last year. I asked if my peers experienced the same increase and the answer is No because I have more experience and up for promo this year. Our bonuses are a % of quota achieved meaning it’s harder for me to get a bonus. Do you think this is fair? What would you do? For additional context, I crushed my quota last year but I feel like I’m being punished now.

Hey Fishes. I wanted to understand one thing.

When you apply for any opportunity, how well versed should you be with all the things mentioned in a JD, like certification, experience, some tools and technology, coding language. Do you see a 100% fit before you apply or go for the opportunity if you see the responsibilities meeting your expectation and know only like 60% of the expected or desired skills.

Have you been selected if in case you applied knowing you meet less criterias?

They’ve just offered me a new position: Creative Services Manager (in house for 4 related brands). Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

So here is my dilemma:
- based in the UK
- opportunity for lateral internal move (culture&engagement) or stay where I am (reward). I am mid level IC struggling to progress due to flat structure so considering lateral move then hopefully up from there.

- Husband just got accepted on a international rotation which means I will be single parent for the short term.
