Do any of you struggle with public speaking still later in your career? 6 YOE (<1 year in consulting) and I still feel like I suck and get too convoluted because I’m so anxious and nervous. How can I motivate myself better for work? I am currently in academia, with a boss who is very laissez-faire. I am driven, but I want to achieve more.

I don't feel so insecure, so I don't derive all my self-value from work, and don't require the "love" or "fame" by approval of my boss or others that much. What seems to work is the "gun to my head", i.e. knowing I need to present my work to someone I value. Or working for someone who I feel close to. Any other strategies worked for you?
