you will be staffed as an ASC for some time as you were told. Things to do: * Learn culture and problem solving approach quickly * Over network as this will be important for getting staffed as an EM * Ask for lots of feedback early and often from EM and ED Coaching: * Ask for it as per above * Once settled (think 2-3 months in) offer to run check-in/out, PS, take first cut of the deck, etc. This will help build the EM skills New entrant: * You'll be treated as any other associate, there might be some expectation that you pick things up more quickly though

McK1 is spot on. Here for almost a year now but several years at a big4. Without a consulting background and to plug in at McK pace as an experienced hire will be a significant adjustment. With a consulting background it is still an adjustment as we do things differently. Page making (ppts) is a whole different level from volume to succinct depth with the McK structure. That was the hardest adjustment for me, from ppt reviewer and client handler at B4, back to page making and handling the client as the ED became more comfortable with my skill set. Back at reviewer, but still make the occasional page in a pinch or for leadership decks. Networking is a function of time and hard to do remote, but we were traveling for a couple of months colacating. That was nice. Back to remote though for now.

Those that come in as that role, is the salary the first few months that of an Associate or an EM? Is there any benefit to asking during the interview process to come in as an associate to give more leeway to learn and network?

Just messaged you, PA.

This will be a 3-4 day part-time engagement. I’m at a small tech focused firm, and don’t have in-house designers as yet. Plus I don’t want to spend hours building slides. Nothing illegal or fishy here. Thanks!

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
