I have been with big law for 6 years and I really don’t want to be a lawyer anymore (I hate the idea that my day is sitting in front of a computer and make sure everything is 100% perfect).

What would be my exit options?

I’ve heard that there is an age limit to ultimately breaking into IB/PE, would you say that there is the same idea in Equity research? Currently 25 with no degree looking to pivot from a direct sales/retail banking background to ER, but it would require going back to school and probably getting the CFA at the same time. Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

How do I become a faster writer? People like my writing skills and I am now getting asked to write substantive appellate and responsive briefs. The issue is that I’m struggling to meet deadlines. It takes me twenty minutes to write a single sentence. I spend too much time fixated on revising prose sentence by sentence, instead of just moving on and revising later.
