I have been with my current company for the last 14 years. Straight commission position. Since 2013 hey have been trying to rebuild this store. Since working for them we’ve gone through 3 CFO’s and I am on my third BM who will being leaving the company only after a year. There is a new Area leader which is causing bad karma among the team. Strong arm tactics and now we are losing good people again. Ideas on how to deal with this very uncomfortable situation. Stuck between a rock and hard place.

Saw a job on LinkedIn applied for it and the CEO of the startup reached out to me saying he was game to move to the next stage of the process. Spoke to hiring manager and they even offered another position which matched my skills. Scheduled a full panel interview. Met with the team had a great chat, Founder even said "I guess you can start right away"..Hiring manager calls later says they'll update then boom that generic email hits my inbox. At this point you're just like arrrrrrgh😩

My question is: do you think I can pretend to a senior-level salary given my profile, like I’d do if the position was Product designer? If you had to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in sales, what would it be?

What company pays their AE’s the most?

5 year TSM in a niche vertical within the construction rental industry, our base salary is very low but I make it up in commission with OTE around 120-150k annually. Are the higher base positions worth the change to still have an uncapped commission? Question might be redundant but I want to see what others have to say.

Customer Success Account Managers at AWS…. Is it worth it? Salary? Benefits? PTO? But most importantly… how much do you actually work? I have been hitting quota and usually work 4-5 hours/day, sometimes more if it’s busy. Know I’m at the “take a leap to get a raise” phase but don’t want to take the leap of it means I lose my balance between work and home.
