What’s the barrier to getting licensed? Seems like that could say a lot on an application (this not knowing anything about you)

I would maybe hire a career coach to help you work on your career profile! That would be the first step to make sure you're positioning yourself in a way that's marketable

Licenses are huge! Most places can’t bill insurances without you having a license. If you need hours, find a site to intern at and go from there.

Have you considered consulting? Or even writing some books. I'm sure your experience and knowledge will be appreciated somewhere.

If you can't find a referral here, I would try over on Linked in. I usually have good luck over there! Best of luck to you.

I agree about the license. 👍🏼

Healthy design discussions with developers vs. open season on the designers. Last month with one dev team it felt like open season, they argued with most of my decisions and the spirit seemed to be they wanted to design the app. Other teams I have worked with there was a lot of collaboration, what was technically feasible in the allotted time, or someone had solved a problem differently in another context. That to me is healthy discussion. Thoughts? Experiences?

I will be starting to go back to the office for meeting soon and need to revamp my closet. After packing on some pounds from a baby and Covid, I’m hoping to not invest a ton of money into work pieces right now as I get back into a workout regimen but still want to look professional. Office is business casual and I was thinking of maybe doing Trunk Club or Stitch Fix to get started. Have any of you ladies had good luck with those services or have a good one geared toward work clothes? TIA!

How do you appeal insurance write offs/adjustments for doing work that an attorney is “overqualified” to do? My insurance client keeps making adjustments to my time spent reviewing/revising documents that my paralegal drafted, saying it is a paralegal task. I can’t just NOT review the things my paralegal drafts though. It’s only a 0.1 or 0.2 that I bill to review and revise these things most of the time, so we aren’t losing huge amounts of money due to the adjustments, but it’s frustrating…
