Maybe set bigger goals for yourself since you might be an overachiever. Save up a million bucks, fund 100 wells in Africa, feed 1,000 homeless in your community, etc
I don’t think so, I’m like that too I find fulfillment in achieving my goals and being productive. I’m also deeply religious but I still need monthly and yearly goals for myself so I know I’m making progress in life. I hate feeling like I’m wasting my time
Try adding kimchi to your routine lunch quesadillas. Life changing.
Supportive family = any kids? That usually sucks up any trailing free time to dwell on these things 😂 but really, kids are amazing at showing you the beauty of life around you.. “big truck!” “Sunny day!” “I wuv you”

Hah A2, same here. My colleagues and I, all had the same general attitude towards work, and that attitude significantly changed in all of us when we had kids. Which also happened to be around the same time. Funny how that works, can’t say I saw it coming
I had it all as you said, and I lost all of it today; sometimes in life you have to loose what you have to appreciate them...and I did and I saying not worth it...learn to be content with what you have and more importantly cherish it
EYP1 - sorry to hear you lost something valuable. Never lose hope my friend because you never know what lies around the corner.. that's life.

Maybe explore religions. I did.
I’d read the Myth of Sisyphus. Really helped me make my peace with the meaningless absurdism of existence.
Vitamin D supplements. You are not getting enough of it. Was feeling the same a month back
Do you supplement vitamin d if you are already taking multivitamin?
Have you ever explored Buddhism? Not so much the religion but the philosophical side. Even if you don’t buy the whole thing I found it gave perspective on a lot of aspects of life, including fulfillment or “enlightenment”

All of us MBB rejects feel that way, OP
Maybe you are getting too comfortable, try set some bigger challenges
Get into philanthropy. It feels good giving back
You’re not alone, OP. I definitely feel the same way quite frequently, and have dwelled on what I need to do to get past it over the last few months.
Similar to what D1 said, consider setting some goals. See if there’s a way you can use some of your work skills to help a local non-profit, make a list of 5-10 books you want to read by 2021, learn to do a front walk-over, allow yourself to unabashedly study one of your favorite topics for no other reason than that you’re fascinated with it, etc., etc.
I can’t guarantee that this will work, but I think it’s easy for many to feel disengaged from life when they find themselves with nothing in particular to do, especially in this day and age. Good luck :)

Oh goodness why is it that getting old sucks but you have everything figured out. Anyway take it from an older person, You’re number one problem is your own thoughts. You are your own enemy in this situation. No one makes you happy, no amount of money makes you happy, doesn’t matter where you are, who you’re with, or what you have, all that matters are your thoughts. And you my friend are allowing your thoughts to steal your peace and happiness. It’s up to you to change your mindset about your life find perspective. You could seek out religion, and that may also be good for you but the problem is even if you were religious if your own thoughts are not working with you, they will work against you.Enjoy what you have, enjoy who you’re with and keep your thoughts very positive. I promise it will pay off for the rest of your life best of luck

How are you giving back? Maybe that’s what you are missing...there are so many ways to get involved, and you don’t need to be rich.
