Recently, a month back I made a switch to a product based company/startup. For a month, I was getting to know their one of the product having tech stack as Java & Aws. Now after a month, I am being put in a new product completely based on golang & temporal.

My total exp is 3.8 years, since I have already spent 3.8 of my life in Java stack, would that be good for me if I make a switch to some other language or tech stack? I see, there are very few position for go.

Throughout my on-going job search, I’ve learned that the recruiters or whoever is your point of contact with a company, owe you an explanation. It does take quite a bit of time to personalize each cover letter. I understand they have so many applications to go through but we deserve solid explanation as to why we weren’t “a good fit for their needs at the moment.” It just is t a good enough answer for me and seems as though the company/organization doesn’t care.

Sr. Program Manager (non tech) L6 SPECT TC range. I have a call with the hiring manager soon. I passed the loop and they offered me a senior manager position. In the HQ2/Washington DC area. Wondering what I should expect for total compensation so I can go in with a little bit of knowledge for negotiation. The Amazon recruiter said it’s typically 190k but I don’t know if they tell you a low number. Masters degree, YOE 18.

For those working on non-tech roles and changing to new jobs, what kind of TC bumps is going on in the market right now? Is it just RSU increase or base is also increasing as well?

Am I required to tell my company if I’m leaving to join a competitor?
I didn’t sign a non compete and I have a bonus vesting shortly. My plan is to give my two weeks notice after I vest my bonus (paid out 1.5 months later) which I think could potentially be jeopardized if I disclose that I’m joining a competitor. Is it ok to just tell them I’m generically ‘exploring other opportunities’?
And hypothetically if they find out and end up not honoring the payout, do I have any legal recourse?
